NEBOSH Process Safety Management Course

The NEBOSH Certificate in Process Safety Management provides you with the knowledge and understanding necessary to participate in the management of risks in process industries in a responsible and informed manner. Oil & gas, petroleum, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and other process industries rely on this certification to train their employees, raising their critical standards to excellence.

The course has been designed by NEBOSH in conjunction with the British HSE (Health and Safety Executive).

By joining forces, they have managed to create a training curriculum that combines the seriousness of NEBOSH with the HSE's experience in high-risk situations.

The exam is online, you can take it from any location with an internet connection and a computer, it is multiple choice and in English, so you just have to choose the correct option.

The PSM1 unit is assessed by means of a remote consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions.

  • The exam is taken online, by accessing a Nebosh website with surveillance and supervision software during the exam
  • The questions and answer options are written in English, so you must have at least that level of understanding of the language. There is no writing involved, just mark the correct answer.
  • The duration is 90 minutes.
  • Each question is worth ONE POINT and has only one correct answer.
  • The PASS standard for the qualification is 60%. Once candidates have achieved a Pass in Unit PSM1, they are considered to have completed the qualification.

The PSM is a technical qualification. There are no specific entry requirements. However, the course assumes a certain level of knowledge.

The assumed level is a general knowledge of Health and Safety at work, so it is recommended that students have previously taken the NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent.
